Tis the Season!

to be married!

This may not be exciting to any of you, but, tomorrow I'm shooting my first bridal session. It's definitely going to be the bomb. The only major bummer is I won't be able to show anyone the pictures until the wedding in September!

This will be hard for me, because I'm one of those people that once I buy a gift for someone I have to tell them what I got them. I'm terrible at surprises. But this is a surprise I will keep a surprise. Just know I'll be dying on the inside to keep from showing you guys. Seriously dying. Explosions in my brain.

Love,

LL

Soon-to-be-Seniors:

Seniors of 2011 are about to graduate (my sister included!) and it will soon be your time to take on your final year of high school. Praise the Lord, right? At least that's how I felt when I was a senior. Soon you will be making important decisions and thinking about exciting future plans-- where you'll go to college, what you're going to major in, who your crazy roommate will be, etc. You will also be picking a senior portrait photographer.

Here comes some shameless-self-promotion. This is my website though so I guess this is where the promoting should happen. Right? Maybe. Anyway, here's the list!

1. I promise-- I swear, even! That I will make you feel comfortable. It may be my impeccable sense of humor. But seriously, I think the most important thing is that you don't feel awkward or uncomfortable. I want you to feel like you can be yourself! 100%!

2. We will have fun. It will happen. I guarantee it. Fo' real.

3. You're getting a pretty good deal. My senior sessions typically run between $100 to $150, and that includes a disc with all of your edited images on it within a couple weeks from the shoot. The day of the shoot I'll post between 1 and 4 previews to get you pumped, and as soon as I'm done editing all of them, I'll post them all on here! (They're very easy for you to save off of this site. Click the picture once to open it in a new window, click it again to make it it's full size, and then save. Simple.)

I've already started booking a few senior sessions for this summer. Don't wait until it's too late!

If you're not a senior, but you're still interested in a shoot, contact me for individual pricing :)

I look forward to hearing from you!

Love,
LL

The End Result

There are a bunch of things that I love about photography. One of them is getting to know the person you're shooting. The first awkward meeting, talking about what's going to happen, discussing outfits, basic get-to-know-you questions, etc. There's a relationship that has to be formed between the photographer and the person in the photographs. When that relationship happens easily, everything is magic. That's how it was with this cutie pie. I couldn't be more glad that Miss McKenna asked me to take her pictures. She was so sweet and willing to do anything I asked her. We were supposed to shoot a week ago, and finding a new date to shoot looked pretty bleak. I am thrilled that we found a time that worked for both of us, because the end result was totally dreamy. McKenna is totally the bomb.

I think my favorite part of the day was when McKenna said that she had fun and that she felt comfortable. Those are two things I hope I can always provide. I think they go hand in hand.

Her puppy, Henley, is the cutest thing. Every time we let her outside, she had to be in front of the camera. She was totally workin' it.

I love when the light does crazy thing like create a rainbow on my picture. The sun is so cool! It does the best things! God's natural light just can't be beat.

I am really happy with how everything turned out!

Thank you McKenna.
Thank you Henley.
Thank you camera.

and good day to you all.

Love,
LL

McKenna

Here is a small preview of today's shoot with McKenna! She is such a doll. She's absolutely adorable. Many more to come from this day.

I can't wait any longer.

I seriously can't wait to do the-soon-to-be-Christner's engagement pictures. I seriously can't wait to do Lauren's bridal pictures. We're doing engagement pictures in Colorado. Yeah, I might die.

It's the most exciting-fun-thrilling-crazy thing in the universe when you're dearest friend gets engaged. In case you were wondering.

Katie

Another cutie patootie: Katie Grant. I did Katie's pictures at the same time as Leah's (per their request). It was a lot of fun getting to spend time with these sweet girls and getting to know them better. They're both beautiful and super goofy. Of course, lots of laughter ensued. Nothing is better than laughing while you work.

Katie has this face that she makes that is awesome and such a "Katie face." I made her do it a million times during the shoot.

There it is! That's the money. The Katie face.

Well, stay tuned, friends!! I have another senior shoot this week, a second in the coming weeks after that, an engagement shoot, a bridal shoot, and a baby shoot all in the next weeks and months! Time to get excited.

Do you have a shoot in mind? Want to celebrate your love with a couple shoot? Need band promo photos? A headshot for your portfolio? There are two things you need to ask yourself. 1. Do I want Lauren to take my pictures? and 2. Why haven't I emailed her yet?

To answer number 2, you can email me at LLucasPhotography@yahoo.com.

I look forward to hearing from you :)

Sincerely,
LL

Leah

Here are some final pictures from Leah's senior picture shoot. Leah is such a beautiful, sweet girl. As you can tell, she made my job really easy since she is a complete knock-out. I'm so blessed she asked me to do these pictures at such an exciting time of life! The transition from high school into college is a great one, as far as I'm concerned. High school is awful and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Isn't she crazy adorable? One of those naturally photogenic girls.
